Terri J. is set to release her debut album “Groovy Moovy” today. The album features 10 tracks that intricately explore themes of self-confidence, true love, owning one’s power, and joy.
“I don’t really like to sing about breakups too much. I like to sing about love and promote it however I can. That being said, heartbreak is a real thing and we have to talk about it sometimes.” – Terri J., Independent Singer-Songwriter.
Terri J. has a unique songwriting style that combines soulful rhythms from the 60s and 70s with modern neo-soul influences. Her latest album, Groovy Moovy, is a collaboration with producer and guitarist Mat Gilbert, which combines their creative styles into an enchanting 10-track record. The album’s instrumentation and lyrics blend together to create a beautiful reflection of their artistic vision, showcasing how different styles can come together to create something fresh and captivating.
A note from producer Mat Gilbert: “I saw Terri composing a lot of this stuff a capella, building chords by ear with only vocals. I think that approach is a big part of her unique style. She has a great ear that allows her to take the harmony to unusual places based on what sounds good. We have created a larger-than-life sound with only drums, bass, guitar, and vocals.”
