Teverra, LLC, a prominent advocate for sustainable energy solutions, has received a grant to lead the implementation of a Natural Geothermal Augmented Thermal Energy Network in Rico, Colorado. This innovative initiative aims to transform energy consumption in the region while preserving this small mountain town’s unique heritage and values.
The grant awarded to Teverra will finance a pre-feasibility study to evaluate the feasibility of establishing a thermal energy network using the town’s abundant natural geothermal resources. By harnessing geothermal energy, Rico aims to improve its energy security, reduce carbon emissions, and pave the way for a sustainable future.
The project’s main goal is to position Rico as a regional center for geothermal energy education and workforce development. Through community engagement and strategic partnerships, Teverra aims to educate stakeholders about the numerous benefits of geothermal energy while fostering a sense of pride and ownership within the community.

Rico’s natural geothermal system offers a great chance to demonstrate how sustainable energy solutions can work in rural mountain communities. Using local resources and encouraging innovation, this project aims to set an example for nearby towns and regions with similar geothermal assets.
