Blue Planet Systems, a California carbontech manufacturer announces the hire of David Gottfried as its first Chief Global Impact Officer.
David Gottfried will help Blue Planet significantly reduce global climate impact by accelerating commercialization of the company’s carbon-negative concrete through its Synthetic Limestone aggregate for the built environment.
Gottfried is best known as a Father of the green building movement, having founded both the U.S. and World Green Building Councils. Gottfried says, “I joined Blue Planet because of its gigatonne permanently sequestered CO2 storage potential inspired by nature. We don’t have time for small solutions, and Blue Planet is the biggest play in the global building industry.”
Gottfried was previously CEO of Reset360, Regenerative Ventures and its RegenNetwork over the past 25 years. Before that, he served as a real estate developer and contractor. He is the host of the Regen360 iTunes podcast, and the recipient of numerous awards including the Global Green Building Entrepreneurship Award. Gottfried is the author of the award-winning book Explosion Green. The building industry emits about forty percent of global CO2 and Gottfried will help accelerate Blue Planet’s production capability and commercialization with new plants around the world to help mitigate climate change and promote the circular economy.
“We’re thrilled to have David join our rapidly growing carbontech company and to gain his expertise interfacing with the global built-environment and pre-developing plants. His decades of experience in sustainable buildings, and market transformation will be instrumental to our future growth and associated positive ecological impact,” says Blue Planet Founder and CEO, Brent Constantz. “We have worked together for the past 15 years where David served on the Advisory Boards for my past two companies.”
Blue Planet’s mission is to mineralize billions of tons of CO2 and store it permanently in the built environment.
