The Hartley Law Firm would like to congratulate Founding Attorney Austin F. Hartley for being named to the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. This prestigious membership, which only 1% of U.S. lawyers receive, is a great example of Austin’s dedication to his clients and their well-being.
What Is the Million Dollar Advocates Forum?
Founded in 1993, the Million Dollar Advocates Forum is a group of trial lawyers in the United States where every member has received a settlement, verdict, or judgment of $1 million dollars or more. Currently, there are over 5,000 members in the country, which equates to less than 1% of all barred attorneys. In 2007, the group added another level, referred to as the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, for attorneys who win more than $2 million dollars.
The Selection Process
Invitations for membership are sent only to candidates who appear to be qualified and who have been nominated by a current member. However, any attorney who qualifies may apply as well. To be considered, the applicant must:
- Be in good standing with the American Bar Association; and
- Have acted as principal counsel in a court or jury trial where the client(s) received a verdict or judgment of $1 million or more; OR
- Negotiated a final settlement where the client(s) received a sum of $1 million or more.
The application is then reviewed by experienced counsel. They request additional or supporting information. Review lasts approximately two weeks after receiving all necessary documentation. Once accepted, the attorney is a member for life.
