Luis Alvarado, a DeFi investor and the owner of Unlimited Leverage, still recalls when an ad for a Tai Lopez course on online marketing inspired him to pursue a career as a digital nomad.
It was on a Christmas back in 2016. At the time, Luis was still a mechanical engineer undergrad approaching his senior year in college, and he could not afford Tai Lopez’s course.
Luis asked his parents for the money to purchase the course as a Christmas gift. He was confident that the social media industry was the future, and he was determined to follow that path.
“Since that time, I had faith in social media; it’s all about catching trends super early,” said Luis in a recent interview. “At the time, I would post breakdance videos on YouTube, and they’d go viral. When I saw the ad, I said, ‘ok, businesses could pay me, and I could help them out with social media.’”
In the end, it would be in the world of DeFi investment, not in social media marketing, that Luis was able to achieve the lifestyle of a digital nomad. Yet, this initial approach to online marketing was critical to awakening the desire to pursue a career in the digital industry and ultimately reach financial independence.
Over the past years, Luis has built a thriving career as a DeFi investor and a DeFi investment mentor. At the Unlimited Leverage passive income accelerator course, he teaches students worldwide how to dive into DeFi investment and generate high-return passive income streams. Luis has helped other forward-minded digital investors reach financial independence through the crypto market.
In a video interview back in January, Luis narrated some episodes of his journey to become a digital nomad and reach financial independence as a DeFi investor.
Since his last years in college, Luis had the intense determination to achieve the lifestyle of a digital entrepreneur. Throughout his life, Luis witnessed the evolution of social media and how it reshaped the world, and he wanted to become part of the digital boom.
In 2017, after realizing that social media marketing was not the path for him, Luis began doing social media consulting while still an undergrad. It was his Senior year in college. Little by little, he started to sign some clients as he learned how to navigate the world of social media and made connections with mentors within the industry.
“I was graduating at the end of 2017, and the moment that I graduated, I was determined to live the digital nomad lifestyle and start traveling full-time,” said Luis. “I didn’t have that much money. But, I had met many mentors online, and I had started establishing my presence and get people to notice me on the internet.”
Once graduated, Luis felt ready to dive into the social media industry fully. Throughout early 2018, Luis learned from his mentors how to market and sell absolutely anything online. However, he had not developed the mentality of creating passive income and making his earnings work for him.
“I was able to start traveling and meet my mentors while making money, but I was still not in the mindset of building wealth or finance,” narrated Luis. “All of my mentors sold the whole idea of passive income, but, as I started meeting them, none of them were making money passively. They were in zoom calls all day selling courses and programs; that is active income.”
Luis rapidly understood that he needed a change in approach. He had learned how to generate money online from some of his first mentors, yet their tactic was highly strenuous and unsustainable. He wanted to achieve real financial independence.
“I knew that passive income isn’t a myth,” said Luis. “I just needed to find the right mentor for this and learn how to make my money work for me.”
Throughout the rest of 2018, Luis went on a chase for financial independence. He encountered new mentors who reshaped his notion of generating wealth during this period.
With the help of his new mentors, Luis learned how to take what he was earning online and invest it in the stock market and other streams of passive income. By the end of 2018, Luis had maximized his passive income to the point of covering his monthly expenses.
“Since diving fully into finance, it was about seven to eight months of investing until that income became much more than what I spent from month to month,” said Luis.
In 2019, after achieving his goal of gaining financial independence, Luis began his career of educating people online about generating wealth and switching their income streams from active to passive.
To this day, Luis continues to teach others how to manage their finances and make their money work for them. With his company, Unlimited Leverage, Luis helps students worldwide invest in the crypto market and yield between 100% to 500% in annual returns. His goal is to aid other motivated entrepreneurs and investors to gain financial independence like him.
“People don’t realize that it doesn’t take very much to be able to live a financially independent lifestyle,” concluded Luis. “When I started training other people, I knew with confidence that anybody can become financially independent. It is just a matter of understanding your assets, monthly expenses, and how much passive income you need.”
