Live Nation’s All-In Pricing Policy Boosts Sales and Transparency

Live Nation Entertainment’s all-in pricing policy, which displays the total price and fees for a ticket transaction, has resulted in an 8% increase in completed sales during the first six months of its implementation across all Live Nation venues and festivals in the U.S. This initiative has been beneficial for both fans and artists, providing transparency for fans and boosting sales for artists while reducing abandoned carts at checkout.

This positive data comes at a crucial time as lawmakers in the House prepare to vote on the TICKET Act, which aims to ensure transparent pricing for consumers and implement other ticket reforms. Live Nation’s adoption of all-in pricing has been widely successful, with nearly 9,000 shows displaying all-in pricing as the program expands. This benefits fans in the 33 states plus Washington, D.C., where Live Nation operates venues.

“Showing the total cost to walk in the door upfront is better for fans and artists. We’re proud to have led the industry in adapting this commonsense policy, and we encourage Congress to enact a nationwide law so every ticket buyer benefits from this transparency, no matter where they are buying their tickets,” said Michael Rapino, CEO of Live Nation Entertainment.

Live Nation has been actively advocating for all-in pricing laws across the country. They have supported the passage of these laws in several state legislatures, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, and Tennessee. Despite these efforts, many resale platforms are still not in compliance with these transparency standards. Live Nation advises consumers to watch out for illegal drip pricing on other ticketing platforms and report such cases to their state Attorney General’s office. Additionally, the company supports other ticketing reforms that benefit consumers, such as banning speculative ticketing, allowing artists to cap resale markups, enhancing legislation against buying tickets with bots, and more.
