On April 21, 2023, Papé hosted the Clean Fuels Symposium at Knife River’s new training facility in Albany, Oregon. The event invited industry professionals and legislators to explore the latest technology in clean energy solutions. Attendees had the opportunity to hear from a range of experts on sustainable fuels, regulatory approaches, and equipment innovations.
“We have been an equipment partner of Knife River for many years. Their new training center is truly state-of-the-art and was the perfect place to showcase these clean-energy vehicles and solutions,” said Jordan Papé, CEO of Papé Group.
The event presentations began with insight from renowned futurist, economist, and author Jason Schenker. He shared his forecasts for the future of clean energy and how businesses can prepare to adapt their operations to meet sustainability and emissions targets.
Schenker’s presentation was followed by two panel discussions moderated by Jordan Papé. The panels featured experts in clean fuel solutions and equipment technology. They shared insights on regulatory trends and how business owners can transition their equipment to meet current and future emissions regulations. The panels also highlighted the need for open discussion between legislators, business stakeholders, and industry leaders to ensure that regulations include feasible methods for compliance.
Following the panel discussions, attendees were invited to switch from theory to practice during the “Ride and Drive” portion of the event. Vehicles featuring battery electric, hydrogen, and hybrid fueling technology were available for attendees to test drive and gain hands-on experience applying clean fuel solutions to real-world applications.
“We appreciate the opportunity to take part in the Clean Fuels Symposium,” said Luke Mazziotti, Director of Sales for Conveyor Application Systems. “Our team gained great insight into the clean energy fueling and equipment options available to vocational fleets.”
The event served as a platform to encourage open discussions between business owners, fuel and equipment experts, and legislators about the future of their industries and how to work together to implement realistic solutions. Papé hopes to provide additional opportunities for continued discussions in the future.
“The entire Papé team did an incredible job putting on a world-class clean fuels event,” said Jordan Papé. “The venue, speakers, and attendees created an atmosphere that sparked meaningful conversations. I’m confident that, by working together, we can continue to unlock pathways to further Oregon’s economic and environmental sustainability targets.”
