During the country’s commemoration of the platinum jubilee of the first successful Everest ascent, the world’s highest mountain will play home to famous personalities from companies like Elon Musk’s SpaceX and the Multi Operational Security Agency Intelligence Company (MOSAIC), which has its headquarters in New York.
The CEO of MOSAIC, Tony Schiena, will be among the climbers and has already started traveling to Khumbu. Schiena will be joined by renowned mountaineer Kami Rita Sherpa, who plans to make a record-breaking 27th ascent of Mount Everest this season. “Pasang Sherpa and Kami Rita will be there.”
In the past, Schiena has worked in crisis zones, given the Afghan National Army emergency training, and assisted in the battle against ISIS in Iraq. His revelation of ISIS’s use of chemical weapons against Kurds attracted attention on a worldwide scale, and he has taught Kurdish special forces leaders a variety of tactics.
Elon Musk’s SpaceX is also sending Tyler Carnevale, a key executive, to climb Everest. Richard Bailey, the acting mayor of Coronado, California, also plans to participate in the spring climbing season by climbing Everest with Elite Expeditions. Bailey is an accomplished athlete who has participated in an array of marathons, triathlons, and an Ironman. In 2018, he was named one of San Diego County’s “40 Under 40” emerging leaders.
Finally, by reaching the top of Everest for the 17th time this climbing season, British climber Kenton Cool hopes to shatter his own national record. Richard Walker, executive chairman of Iceland Foods, will get help from Cool as he makes an attempt to climb the mountain from the Nepal side. Walker intends to climb in support of the Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation (IFCF) in an effort to raise more than £1 million for the benefit of people suffering from uncommon dementias. Prior to this, Walker Walker wants to raise more than £1 million to help people who have unusual forms of dementia. Walker had previously made an attempt to ascend Everest from the Tibetan side, getting as high as 7,020 meters at that time.
