At the 2023 International Economic Development Council (IEDC) conference, Rob Hunden, the President and CEO of Hunden Partners, a nationwide real estate advisory group, gave a presentation titled “Preparing For and Executing Effective Public-Private Partnerships.” Hunden shared valuable content, guidance, and best practices that they have gained from their involvement in numerous real estate projects that depended on successful developer selection processes and public-private partnerships (P3s). The event will be hosted at Dallas, Texas’ Hilton Anatole hotel from September 17-20.
“The IEDC’s work is vital to the growth of destination real estate, community revitalization, and commercial development,” says Hunden. “We’re honored to present at its conference this year and secrets to success on navigating public-private partnerships from initial outreach to project completion.”
Public-private partnerships, or P3s, have gained popularity worldwide and are increasingly being utilized in the United States. These partnerships between government agencies and private suppliers offer more flexible and innovative financing options to support large-scale infrastructure and community development projects. In his session, Hunden will draw from his 28 years of experience managing P3s to discuss the specific processes involved in these contracts. He will cover the most effective pre-solicitation studies, strategies for the RFQ/P process, negotiation processes, common pitfalls to avoid, and best practices from real-life examples.
“P3s can provide a foundation for community transformation through the built environment. Still, something like a basic developer RFP can fall apart due to common, but easily avoidable, missteps. Attendees will walk away from this session with a playbook on how to effectively approach, manage, and execute P3s for collectively successful outcomes,” Hunden says.
