In an era where creative collaboration is the driving force of entertainment, sisters Desiree and Mariah Turner are making their mark with the launch of their new production company, Prose & Page Turners. Founded in early 2025, the company marks the sisters’ first official venture into the world of film and intellectual property development. With industry veteran Jonathan Gower joining them as a creative lead, the team has already begun making waves through their first projects, including a feature film and an upcoming novel.
The company’s debut production, The Prince, the Sister, and the Serpent, is set to be directed and written by Omar Parker, known for his work in independent film and online media. It represents the first major test for Prose & Page Turners, which plans to specialize in IP development, creative writing, and cross-media storytelling. The Turners’ partnership with Gower and Parker has positioned the company as a rising creative hub, uniting storytelling talent from film, literature, and digital media.
The Sisters Behind the Vision
Desiree and Mariah Turner, born two years apart, grew up as inseparable companions with an unshakable creative bond. Raised in Montana, the sisters were immersed in stories from a young age, spending countless Friday nights watching films together on their family couch until they could barely keep their eyes open. Desiree found her early passion in books, while Mariah gravitated toward visual art through painting and sculpting.
As they grew older, life pulled them temporarily away from their creative dreams. Both sisters attended Montana State University, where they earned degrees in science, pursuing stable careers that didn’t quite satisfy their creative spirits. Yet their friendship endured every chapter of adulthood. They worked multiple jobs together, lived under the same roof, and even collected matching Lord of the Rings tattoos during their travels.
Eventually, the pull of storytelling proved too strong to ignore. After years of trying to fit into STEM careers, Desiree and Mariah made the bold decision to pursue their original dream: creating stories that would capture imaginations the same way their favorite films and games once did. They envisioned tales filled with adventure, humor, and emotion—stories reminiscent of The Mummy (1999), Practical Magic, and expansive worlds like Mass Effect or Skyrim.
Their shared love of storytelling culminated in the creation of Prose & Page Turners, a name inspired by a family anecdote. Their mother had once dreamed of naming her daughter “Paige,” until a friend pointed out that “Paige Turner” would sound like a pun. Years later, the sisters paid homage to that story by building the name of their company around it—a nod to both their family and their lifelong devotion to stories worth turning the page for.
The Creative Catalyst: Jonathan Gower
To bring their dream to life, the Turners enlisted the expertise of Jonathan Gower, a writer, producer, director, and actor with an expansive résumé across film and digital platforms. Gower, a fellow Montana State graduate, is best known for co-creating the popular YouTube series Captain’s Log alongside longtime collaborator Omar Parker. The series, which boasts hundreds of thousands of subscribers and a Silver Play Button, demonstrated Gower’s knack for blending humor and cinematic storytelling.
Gower’s career spans 17 feature films and 23 short films, several of which have appeared at major festivals including Tribeca, Sundance, and Cannes. His work has been featured on Amazon, Paramount+, and Tubi, establishing him as a versatile and respected presence in the indie film circuit.
When the Turners approached him about joining Prose & Page Turners, Gower saw an opportunity to expand his storytelling into new territory, literature. “I’ve always been drawn to stories that live beyond one medium,” he has said. “Working with Desiree and Mariah offered the perfect chance to bridge film, books, and imagination in a way that feels fresh.”
A Novel Beginning
The collaboration’s first major literary project, Providence, arrives this December and represents the trio’s first step into publishing. Co-written by Gower and Desiree Turner, the novel is described as an epic action-adventure that mixes espionage, mythology, and science fiction.
The story follows Agent Jasmine Carter, a seasoned operative who uncovers a dark conspiracy after the mysterious death of her childhood friend, a former CIA agent. Her investigation leads her to a strange ancient text and two unlikely allies: Ian, a man longing for a peaceful life, and Horus, an ancient avian alien and former Egyptian god who now terrorizes local mail carriers. Together, they face an otherworldly plot that could spell the end of the world.
The novel’s mix of humor, myth, and high-stakes action embodies the creative ethos of Prose & Page Turners: imaginative, emotionally rich stories that cross genres and formats.
Building a Creative Future
While Providence marks their first published work, the team is already developing a growing slate of ideas for 2028 and beyond, many in collaboration with Omar Parker. The Prince, the Sister, and the Serpent will serve as the company’s cinematic debut, followed by additional projects that aim to blend the worlds of literature, film, and digital storytelling.
For Desiree and Mariah, the launch of Prose & Page Turners represents more than a business venture, it is the realization of a lifelong dream shared between sisters who never stopped imagining. For Gower, it is a chance to evolve his creative voice in new directions. Together, the trio stands at the intersection of heart, humor, and creativity, ready to tell the kind of stories that remind audiences why they fell in love with storytelling in the first place.
