Skyway Technologies and Berg Holdings have formed a partnership to develop a network of vertiports in the Bay Area and other parts of Northern California. This partnership will support the growth of the Urban Air Mobility industry and provide faster passenger and cargo delivery between several locations in the Bay Area, including Mountain View, Marin County, Sonoma County, San Jose, and the East Bay I-680 corridor. The vertiport sites will be designed to cater to specific UAM use cases and will be integrated into existing airspace traffic. They will also be agnostic to eVTOL vehicles and are expected to be certified by the FAA in time for commercial eVTOL flights in 2025.
“The Bay Area has always been about pioneering and progress, with horizons to be navigated as well as admired. Berg Holdings looks forward to assisting Skyway in the pursuit of common-sense sites and regulations to make local aero mobility more equitable, efficient, safe, green, and enjoyable,” said Carlo “Carlito” Berg, Managing Director, Berg Holdings.
Skyway and Berg Holdings are taking advantage of the slow development of urban air mobility infrastructure by using Berg Holdings’ large real estate portfolio to create ideal UAM vertiport locations. Berg Holdings believes that partnering with Skyway and its comprehensive vertiport solutions will allow them to maximize their market share and help Skyway provide the necessary UAM technology services to plan and operate vertiport facilities. This partnership will also enable Skyway to analyze potential locations that would benefit regional and community UAM vertiport development strategies. By leveraging Skyway’s expertise in vertiport site selection, their vertiport infrastructure planning practice will expand further.
