Sewio, a UWB-based real-time location system (RTLS) vendor, today announced that their technology is one of the technological keystones of Germany’s pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020, which leverages the latest technologies including Sewio RTLS to provide an immersive visitor experience.
facts and fiction, the Cologne-based agency that won the tender for the German pavilion, evaluated several indoor tracking technologies before selecting Sewio RTLS for its precision, reliability, and costs. The main goal for using the indoor tracking solution at the pavilion was to allow visitors to seamlessly participate in various activities at several interactive kiosks based on precise positioning, turning the visitors into players.
The localization system at the German pavilion is powered by 97 Sewio RTLS anchors covering ten different halls and enabling location-based gamification for over 3,000 people wearing the visitor’s badge, which features the Sewio RTLS tag.
“To be the ones pioneering UWB-powered RTLS technology at an event of this magnitude comes with great responsibility, and I am incredibly proud that both our team and product were up to this challenge, yet again proving that it is the technology of the future,” said Milan Simek, the CEO and Co-founder of Sewio Networks.
The visitor-first approach at the German pavilion paid off. CNN selected it among the most spectacular pavilions at Expo Dubai 2020, and its success can also be measured by the endless queues of visitors waiting to see the German pavilion and learn more about renewable energy and sustainable solutions through the immersive experience enabled by the UWB-powered Sewio RTLS.
